Canned Ingredients

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup This adds creaminess and flavor. Substitute with cream of mushroom or a homemade cream sauce if desired.

Condiments

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Use your favorite variety for the best flavor.

Vegetables

  • 1 cup diced onions Feel free to mix bell pepper colors for a more vibrant dish.
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers You can also substitute with other vegetables like carrots or zucchinis for added nutrition.

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
  • In a bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup and barbecue sauce. Stir until smooth, then pour the mixture over the chicken.
  • Scatter the diced onions and sliced bell peppers on top of the chicken mixture.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and easily shreds.
  • Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and mix it back into the sauce before serving.

Notes

Check for doneness; ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F. Use fresh ingredients for best results.
