  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For breading
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Adds flavor and color
  • 2 large eggs For the egg mixture
  • 1/2 cup milk Helps the breading stick
  • as needed cup oil for frying Vegetable oil or canola oil recommended

Optional Sides

  • as needed gravy For topping
  • as needed mashed potatoes Classic side
  • as needed green beans For added color and nutrients

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch thick.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs and milk together until well mixed.

Breading

  • Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, dip into the egg mixture, and then coat again in the flour mixture.

Cooking

  • Heat about 1/4 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Check oil readiness by dropping a piece of bread into it.
  • Carefully place the breaded chicken breasts into the hot oil and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels.
  • Serve with optional gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Notes

Ensure even thickness of chicken to avoid uneven cooking. Double breading is essential for crispiness. Watch oil temperature for perfect frying.
