A delightful and creative Halloween-themed bento lunch that combines fun shapes with healthy ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 small orange (cut into segments)
  • 1 apple (sliced)
  • Handful of blackberries
  • Baby carrots (a small handful)
  • Cucumber (sliced into pumpkin shapes using a cookie cutter)
  • 1 hard-boiled egg (peeled and optionally decorated to look like a pumpkin)
  • Whole grain crackers (for a crunchy side)
  • Hummus (for dipping the vegetables)
  • Pumpkin seeds (for some added crunch)
  • Halloween-themed cupcake liners or picks (to enhance the spooky presentation)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruits: Wash and cut the orange into segments, slice the apple, and place both in a bento box section. Add a handful of blackberries for contrast and color.
  2. Cut the Vegetables: Peel and slice the cucumber into rounds, then use a small pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter to create cute pumpkin-shaped pieces. Add baby carrots for extra crunch.
  3. Prepare the Protein: Hard boil an egg, then peel it. If desired, use food-safe coloring or a marker to draw a face on the egg to make it resemble a pumpkin.
  4. Add Grains and Dips: Place whole grain crackers in one section of the bento box. Add a small portion of hummus for dipping the veggies in another section.
  5. Garnish with Extras: Sprinkle pumpkin seeds over the fruits and veggies or place them in a small compartment. Finally, use Halloween-themed cupcake liners to separate or decorate sections of the bento box.

Notes

Customize the bento with your favorite fruits and veggies. Use cookie cutters for fun shapes to enhance the Halloween theme.
