Engaging and delicious cake pops decorated as pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients required on the box)
  • 1 cup of chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup of orange candy melts (can substitute with white chocolate)
  • 1 cup of green candy melts (for leaves)
  • Cake pop sticks
  • Black edible decorating gel or chocolate (for detailing)
  • Sprinkles or edible glitter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Bake it in a 9×13 inch pan and let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cake into a large bowl using your hands until it resembles fine crumbs.
  3. Add in the chocolate frosting, mixing it with the crumbled cake until fully combined.
  4. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Insert a cake pop stick into each ball.
  5. Freeze for about 15 minutes to firm them up.
  6. Melt the orange candy melts according to package instructions until smooth.
  7. Dip each pop into the melted orange coating, tapping off any excess. Allow them to harden.
  8. Melt the green candy melts and pipe out small leaves for each pumpkin. Use the black edible gel to create faces on your jack-o’-lanterns.
  9. Serve your decorated Halloween cake pops on a festive platter or wrapped as treats!

Notes

Ensure cake is cool before crumbling to avoid messy mixing. Freeze pops before coating to prevent them from falling apart.
