A comforting and hearty dish featuring tender chicken, fluffy dumplings, and a savory broth, all cooked effortlessly in a crockpot.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 can of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup of celery, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Herbs like thyme or parsley for added flavor
  • 1 can of biscuit dough

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by placing the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. Add the broth and vegetables by pouring in the chicken broth and adding the sliced carrots and chopped celery. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Cook the mixture by covering the crockpot and cooking on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  4. Add the dumplings by cutting the biscuit dough into pieces and dropping them onto the top of the chicken mixture about 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Cook the dumplings by covering the crockpot again and letting the dumplings cook until they are fluffy and cooked through, usually about 30 minutes.
  6. Serve the dish warm straight from the crockpot.

Notes

Keep an eye on the cooking time; overcooked chicken can become dry. For a flavor boost, add your favorite herbs or spices.
