A comforting dish featuring tender chicken breasts simmered in a creamy, flavorful gravy.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Thyme or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Brown the chicken breasts for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Set the browned chicken aside on a plate to rest.
  5. Cook the diced onion and minced garlic in the same skillet until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add the flour and cook for about 1 minute until lightly golden.
  7. Mix in the chicken broth and milk, whisking continuously to create a smooth gravy.
  8. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer, spooning gravy over the chicken.
  9. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and gravy thickens.
  10. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, experiment with different herbs or a splash of white wine.
