A delightful balance of sweet and savory flavors, this sesame chicken recipe is simple and perfect for family meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, and sesame oil together. Set aside.
  2. Coat the Chicken: In another bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch until well coated.
  3. Heat the Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken. Cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the Sauce: Pour the honey sauce over the cooked chicken. Stir to coat evenly, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

You can substitute boneless, skinless chicken thighs for richer flavor and use low-sodium soy sauce for a healthier option.
