This Slow Cooker Bread Stuffing brings a cozy twist to your holiday meals, perfectly seasoned and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread, cubed (day-old preferred)
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2-3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Sauté vegetables: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced celery and onion, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed celery and onion, and poultry seasoning.
  3. Add moisture: Stir in 2 cups of chicken broth until the mixture reaches your desired level of moisture. Add the beaten eggs and mix well.
  4. Transfer to the slow cooker: Spread the mixture evenly.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
  6. Serve: Serve warm alongside your favorite main dish.

Notes

Use stale bread to avoid mushiness and check the stuffing at the 4-hour mark to prevent overcooking.
